The evening started out promising, with strong winds around Armdale. As the fleet passed start and headed to the RNSYS green mark, the wind dropped and things slowed down considerably. The air was quite thick with smoke from the wildfires, burning the eyes of this reporter.
Everyone made it back before sundown, and the lucky few who called ahead had food from the kitchen at AYC.
