Bluenose one-design class sloops have been racing on the Northwest Arm in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 1946.

The class was designed by William James Roué at the request of a group from Armdale Yacht Club, located the Northwest Arm.

The Northwest Arm fleet ebbed and flowed over the years, but has had a resurgence in the past decade, with a growing number of boats joining the fleet each year.
